Admissions and Fees


Choosing a school can be one of the hardest decisions a parent has to make. The River School offers a distinctive education based on Christian values where children are taught in small classes. Our vision is that each child will leave equipped with the best character qualities, skills, disciplines and knowledge to realise their potential and gifts.


We welcome prospective parents to come and see us in our excellent surroundings and to meet the children and staff. Our application process involves a tour of the school, discussions with the Headteacher, a meeting with the SENCO if required, and a two day “taster” visit. If all parties agree, then a place can be offered and accepted. (Please see our Admissions Policy for further details of the admission process.)



The River School is an independent Christian school. This means that we are entirely dependent on parents and others for our income. School fees are reviewed annually to reflect the real cost of educating each child, based upon the budget for the coming year. To help parents who have more than one child at the school, a  reduction is in place for siblings.


We recognise that not all families can afford the full fees, so we operate an assisted fees scheme which is based on income assessment. Please speak to us for further information.


The Fees for 2017-18

The Brook Nursery and Reception until aged 5:- offers up to 30 hours which are funded through the Local Authority Funded hours(NEF) scheme. Additional hours cost:

2 year olds £3.95

3+4 year olds £3.65


Reception Class:

4 year olds £137.50 per month which increases to £275 per month in the term after the child's 5th birthday.


Years 1-11 £550 per month (£6600 per annum)


Fees must be paid by twelve monthly standing order payments (or may be paid annually or termly in advance by agreement with the Financial Administrator) on the first of each month.
