About the Trustees
Liz Cave (Chair of Trustees)
As a qualified teacher she worked in Wales, Scotland and England. Her four children attended the River School, where she taught Geography for 10 years. She has been a trustee for the last 4 years and is currently Chair of Trustees with responsibility for overseeing Safeguarding and Special Education Needs within the school.
Timothy Crow taught at King's School in Worcester for ten years at the beginning of his teaching career. He was then involved in establishing The River School and has been Headmaster and Principal over the years since that time. His own children went through the school and he and his wife are involved in fostering as well.
Chris Hunt has lived in Worcester for over 30 years. He is an Architect specialising in old buildings. His wife taught at the River School in its early days and his children attended the school so his links with the school have lasted a long time. He is a member of City Church in Worcester.
Martin has been involved with the River School for almost a decade and currently holds the Trustee responsibility of Finance Lead. Martin's three children have all attended the River School, two of whom are still attending, the third having passed his GCSE's and moved successfully into further education. Martin is a qualified Senior Management Executive and Managing Partner. In his spare time Martin enjoys 'family time', reading and gardening.
Charles Crow is husband to Becky, father to three sons and a daugher , and in his spare time is a barrister with No.5 Chambers. As an ex-pupil Charlie was delighted to be invited to get involved with the River School as a trustee in 2011. As the son of a previous head teacher of the school, husband of a teacher (primary), and Chair of Governors at a school in Leamington Spa, he has a level of exposure to the education system, and earnestly desires that the River School should continue to be known as a caring, supportive place where children will gain an outstanding and well-rounded education and a deeper love for God.
Tim is husband to Lucy and father of 4 children, 3 of whom have attended the River School at various periods of their education. He is a committed Christian and attends Chawn Hill Church in Stourbridge at which he has served in various voluntary capacities including: Youth Worker, Sunday School Teacher, Sound and Lighting Technician and Elder. As well as being a Trustee of the River School, Tim is also an active member of the Worcestershire Branch of the Gideons. He has worked in the rail industry for over 30 years as a Locomotive and Plant Engineer; Adult/Apprentice Education Trainer; Health & Safety, Quality, Security and Environment Manager and latterly as a Supply Chain Compliance Auditor. Tim believes that education in a loving and secure Christian context is essential to develop character and ensure the child's understanding of their identity free from the influences of the World.
Esther is a former pupil of the school and now works as a solicitor. Her own children attend the school. Esther is very grateful for the part the school has played in her own life and was delighted to be asked to be a trustee.
