Welcome

It is a great honour to be Headteacher of The River School and I look forward to the exciting times ahead as we build on the good and outstanding practice already evident across the whole school. The school accepts 2, 3 and 4 year olds into our “Outstanding” (BSI Inspection 2013) Brook Nursery and the children can then move into our Reception class and remain at the school until they are 16. Class sizes are deliberately small (under 20) so that the children can receive the teacher's full attention and support.

If you join our school you will find a supportive and happy community where your child will grow and flourish in a Christian environment designed to build character as well as academic achievement. We believe that by working closely together, we can maintain the high expectations and standards across all areas of the school. We work hard to provide a safe, happy and challenging environment, where children can celebrate their achievements and the achievements of others.

There are many opportunities for children to develop their skills and confidence through the curriculum and through extra-curricular activities; such as in drama and music. We have a fantastic “Forest” school and this builds independence and self-esteem in the children.

Our core values centre on bringing out the best in our children; not just academically, but morally, emotionally, socially, physically and spiritually. The foundational Christian principles are very important to us and are fundamental to the way the school operates. Our aim for each child is that when they leave The River School, they are confident, well-rounded children with the best character qualities, skills, discipline and knowledge needed to realise their potential and gifts.

Please contact us on (01905) 457047 to arrange an appointment as we’d love to introduce ourselves, show you around the school and share more on the vision of our school.
