Years 1 and 2
Welcome to Years 1 and 2
Year 1/2 classroom is sunny and bright with a happy, relaxed atmosphere. A place where each pupil is encouraged to work to the best of their ability in everything they do.
Dedicated teachers Mrs Ruth Scanlon and Mrs Lydia Michaela each bring a unique flavour and enthusiasm to the subjects they teach, whilst working together to produce a cohesive curriculum. Mrs Caroline Cawte is our multi-tasking Teaching Assistant.
The focus is on providing a safe, secure and happy environment in which opportunities are provided that support, help and develop social skills, self-confidence and a love of learning.

Trip to RAF Cosford.
World Book Day. We had great fun dressing up, creating enormous books, performing a recitation of "In the Ning, Nang, Nong" and making our own book dioramas.
Pancake Day. We followed instructions to decorate our own pancake faces!
Our Class Fun Run
Class 1 & 2 have been raising funds to go towards a new set of Ocarina's. These are small wind instruments, fun and easy to play for those with small hands.
The children were sponsored to run 10 laps of the sports hall, with a slight twist! They had to collect a piece of sports equipment after each lap they complete and carry it for the duration of the run. So on lap 10, they were carrying 10 pieces of equipment. Class 1 & 2 are very strong, as you can see in the photos below!
Get ready, get steady, GO!
We've been learning how the Vikings traveled.
We have had a fun week in Class 1&2 celebrating Autumn! We have been on Autumn walks outside collecting wonderful treasures from the grounds. We have also been celebrating delicious apples by tasting different varieties, then judging which ones we like the most. We made some Apple and Cinnamon Muffins and Apple Punch - Yummy!

Our Class Butterfly Project.
Our Italian Afternoon.
We had the opportunity for some Year 10 students to come and talk to us about Italy. We were able to try some Italian food like olives, bread dipped in oil and balsamic vinegar. Then we made an Italian flag and learnt about Fresco art. A big thank you to Year 10!
