Golds, Grit and Great Memories at the Christian Schools' Trust Sports Day
The Senior CST Crew
Our senior pupils recently travelled to Oxford to take part in the annual Christian Schools' Trust (CST) Sports Day, joining pupils from fellow CST schools from across the country for a day of athletics, competition and friendship.
The Christian Schools' Trust is a network of around 25 independent Christian schools that work together to support and strengthen Christian education. The River School has been a proud member of the Trust for many years, benefiting from the opportunities it provides for pupils to compete, collaborate and build lasting friendships with students from other Christian schools.
Every year, the CST Sports Day brings together young athletes to compete across a range of track and field events. While medals and personal bests are celebrated, the event is about much more than results. It is a wonderful opportunity for pupils to represent their schools, demonstrate perseverance and sportsmanship, and enjoy fellowship with students from across the CST family.
This year was no exception, and our River School team did us proud from start to finish.

Five gold medals, one silver and three bronze medals is an incredible achievement, and we are immensely proud of every pupil who represented The River School.
More Than Medals
While the results were fantastic, what stood out most was the character shown by our students throughout the day.
Several pupils stepped into events at short notice to support the team. Others pushed themselves outside their comfort zones, giving events a go for the first time or competing despite nerves and fatigue. Throughout the day, our students encouraged one another, celebrated each other's successes and showed the kind of resilience and teamwork that make us especially proud.
Whether standing on the podium or simply giving their all, every competitor played an important part in the team's success.
Making Memories Together
Of course, no school trip would be complete without plenty of fun along the way!
The minibus journeys were filled with music, laughter and enthusiastic singalongs. Friendships grew stronger, memories were made and, if we're being honest, there were probably a few too many sweets consumed during the course of the day!
These shared experiences are often what pupils remember long after the medals have been awarded, and it was a joy to see the team enjoying every moment together.
Well Done, Team River!
A huge congratulations to all of our competitors for representing The River School so brilliantly. Thank you to the staff who supported the day and to the organisers of another excellent Christian Schools' Trust Sports Day.
We came home with medals, memories and plenty to celebrate - but most importantly, we came home proud of the effort, perseverance and encouragement shown by every member of the team.
