Summer Fun Day 2026: Sunshine, Smiles and Soaking the Teachers!

What a wonderful day we had at this year's River School Summer Fun Day!

Families, friends and visitors joined us on our beautiful school site for an afternoon packed with fun, laughter and community. From delicious BBQ treats, homemade cakes and ice cream, to craft stalls, face painting, forest school activities, a raffle, bouncy castle and a host of games, there was truly something for everyone to enjoy.

One of the highlights of the day was the fantastic entertainment provided by our talented students. We were treated to some outstanding vocal and piano performances, and it was a joy to see their confidence and gifts on display in front of such an appreciative audience.

The day reached a hilarious finale with our eagerly anticipated "Soak the Teacher"challenge, where Mrs Ellin, Mr Wrigley and Mr Holliday bravely took their places in the firing line and were enthusiastically pelted with wet sponges by their delighted students!

More than anything, it was wonderful to see so many familiar faces and to welcome new families and visitors who were experiencing The River School for the first time. Events like these remind us what a special community we are blessed to be part of - a place where friendships are strengthened, memories are made and life is celebrated in all its fullness.

Thank you to everyone who attended, volunteered, performed, donated, baked, organised and supported the day. We couldn't have done it without you, and we are already looking forward to next year!
